Industrial Circuit Breakers and OEMs

More and more companies are utilizing OEMs, ultimately creating a new level of demand for these manufacturing companies. This is especially true with industrial circuit breakers where needs and standards can vary wildly, depending on the ordering company. The challenge, therefore, is the need to continuously work to meet complex requirements for industrial circuit breakers for each customer and their brands.

What is an OEM?

An OEM (original equipment manufacturer) manufactures products or components, including industrial circuit breakers that are then purchased by another company and sold under the purchasing company’s brand. The OEM is the company that originally manufactured the product or component.

OEMs are positioned in business to provide a unique opportunity to manufacture products and components without a high cost. When a company utilizes an OEM to manufacture their products or components, they are able to obtain products for retail sale without having to own and operate a manufacturing facility avoiding the overhead associated with owning and operating a manufacturing facility.

OEMs and Industrial circuit breakers

One product that is often supplied by OEMs are industrial circuit breakers. These OEMs are able to provide a high level of service as well as adapt to their customer’s needs without an issue. OEMs of industrial Circuit Breakers understand the different electrical requirements involved in manufacturing industrial circuit breakers and can easily adapt their manufacturing processes as equipment becomes increasingly complex, requiring a facility’s electrical system to provide increased levels of power. The industrial circuit breakers in use need to be able to meet those increased power demands in order to keep equipment functioning properly as well as keep those working in a facility safe.

Industrial Circuit Breakers

Industrial circuit breakers are used in institutional applications, such as a plant or other industrial facility. Industrial circuit breakers are devices used to break the electrical circuit during an overload. These are automatically-operated switches, which will protect the electrical circuit from potential damage that could occur during an overload. All industrial circuit breakers share typical operation features. They are identified by voltage class, current rating and type and are expected to detect potentially faulty conditions.
